Eureka enters a new era in 2017.

With the passing of Colin in August last year, son Scott is ultimately at the helm.

Possessing passion for Eureka to continue its successful postion in standing stallions and building broodmare bands, Scott is dedicated in the persuit of upholding the family tradition, as well as suporting and promoting the Queensland breeding and racing industry. Scott's middle son Angus, has become the backbone of the stud and bares the family's passion and persistence for thoroughbred breeding and a hard day's work.

On the sire front, Spirit of Boom enters his fourth season at stud, as we eagley await his first two-year old runners later in the year.  On the back of his yearling sale results and first reports by both Queensland and interstate trainers on his breakers, hopes are high.

Real Saga boosts the stallion rank, as a young proven sire with great potential. Named three times leading QLD 2YO Sire, he provides breeders with not only early speed (he produced Real Surreal winner of 2YO Magic Millions Classic)  but has sired black type performers (group winners and placegetters) from 1100m to 2500m. He has the added attraction of no Danzig blood, making him a great outcross for Danehill line mares.

Red Dazzler, an oldie but a goldie, producers winner after winner and sits consistently at a 64% runners to winners ratio. He entered stud in 2006 and has sired winners of over 500 races and more than $12 million in prizemoney.

Eureka has for decades taken a national and international aproach, and in 2017 Scott made an all out effort to promote and expand the name and fame of Spirit of Boom across Australiasia.

Offering his yearlings at sales around the Nation and in New Zealand, has given Spirit of Boom every available opportuntiy to succeed across a variety of states, tracks and trainers.

Firmly family owned and run, Eureka is operated by hands on horsemen Scott and son Angus, with wife and mum Grania by their side. From foaling mares at midnight, to ruling office books, while cooking up a storm in the kitchen, Grania turns her hand everything and all.

The Eureka McAlpine clan now in its fourth generation continues in the family values of hard work and fine horsemanship, dedication and determination. It may be a new era at Eureka, but some things never change.
