Spirit of Boom Arrives Home

Retiring with two Group One wins to his credit,  9 race wins, 19 Group race places and $2,412,900 in earnings, Spirit of Boom has arrived home. Having left Tony Gollan's city stable, he has settled in well this week to his familiar Eureka surrounds to await September and his official broodmare dates !

Red Dazzler First Gr 1 Win

QLD Oaks winner Tinto gave sire Red Dazzler his first Gr 1 winner. The 3yo filly's win was a family affiar. Bred and raced by Grania McAlpine and trained by Toowoomba's Rex Lipp, a  long term friend of Eureka and the McAlpines', she was ridden to easy victory by Tim Bell in the 2400m Gr 1 event. Tinto (ex Truly Brave by Brave Warrior) has boosted Red Dazzler's earings to $5.6 million with 88 winners and 231 wins. (1/6/14)

Second Gr 1 Win for Spirit of Boom

Spirit of Boom scored his second Gr 1 win in the BRC Doomben 10,000 (1,350m) over his half-brother Temple of Boom and Gr 1 sprint star Buffering.

Spirit of Boom on his way to stud soon, gave trainer Tony Gollan the quinella with the Boom brothers who previously did same in the Gr 2 BRC Victory Stakes with Temple of Boom defeating Spirit of Boom. Both will start in the Gr 1 Stadbroke Hcp on June 7. (24/5/14)


Spirit of Boom Gr 1 Runner Up for Third Time

Gr 1 winner Spirit of Boom clocked up his 3rd Gr 1 second placing with a fast-finishing run in the BRC BTC Cup over 1200m. Previously he has run second twice to Lankan Rupee, in the Gr 1 VRC Newmarket and in the Gr 1 MRC Oakleigh Plate this season. Last season as a 5yo he was 3rd in two Gr 1 events, the MRC Oakleigh Plate and the WATC Winterbottom Stakes. In 50 starts, he has finished in the top 3 in 18 Group races. (13/5/14)

Spirit of Boom Service Fee set at $11,000

Spirit of Boom will stand his first season at stud at a fee of $11,000 (inc gst)

 Gr 1 winner of the MVRC William Reid Stakes (1200m), and placed in four Gr 1 races is to be syndicated as a stallion to stand at Eureka.

An ideal sire for Queensland, Spirit of Boom possessed 2yo speed, then stamina and acceleration to win out to 1400m. Being a son of one of the state’s most successful sires in Sequalo, he is a half-brother to Gr 1 winner Temple of Boom, while his dam Temple Spirit bred from a Danehill – Semipalatinsk cross, won 8 races from 1000m – 1200m and was stakes placed.

Currently Spirit of Boom in 48 starts has earned over $1.8 million, winning 8 races including the Gr 2 MRC Caulfield Sprint H (1100m), the Listed GCTC Goldmarket H (1300m), the Magic Millions Cup (1400m)  and has been placed in no less than 14 Group races (inc 4 Gr 1 races) between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

An outstanding two-year-old, he won 3 races inc the Listed GCTC Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m), the Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Prelude (900m), and scored stakes seconds in the Gr 2 BRC Victory S and Listed Phelan Ready S.

Spirit of Boom will have his last start in the BRC Winter Carnival’s Stradbroke Hcp. A real Queenslander, he was Eureka-bred, Eureka-raced and returns to Eureka to stand. “He is a boost for QLD, the industry and breeders. He has the right qualities 2yo speed, tenacity, and toughness to train on and remain sound. An honest horse, by the right sire, we are happy to keep him in QLD and return him home to continue our family’s 60 years breeding tradition of standing stallions” said Scott McAlpine.

Red Dazzler Scores Stakes Winner

Red Dazzler nailed a Listed Stakes win with Typhoon Red taking out the Mainz Developments Weetwood Hcp (1200m) in Toowoomba on 12th April.

Trained by Kevin Kemp, Typhoon Red  (5g ex Gentle Thunder) winner of 10 races, has now  ammased over $229,600 in earnings. On the same day, Rudy (3g ex Go On Now Go) won theBRC  Goulburn Valley 3yo plate at Doomben over 1350m for trainer Helen Page and jockey Tegan Harrison.

Red Dazzler continues to churn out winners. Now sire of 86 winners, 216 wins and over $4.9 million in career prizemoney and over $1million in this season earnings.

Red Dazzler Champion QLD 3rd Season sire has 3YO Quinella to kick off new season!

Finishing as Champion 3rd Season sire for QLD by winners and 2nd for Australia, Red Dazzler is continuing to prove himself as a great sire of 2 year olds who can then run on at 3 and 4! 

On only the second day of the season the newly turned 3 year old Red Dazzlers were out in force on Friday to claim first and second places at Ipswich. Grawlix at only her second race start was trailing a way off the rest of the field to unleash a tremendous run in the straight 8 wide to run down the field and catch her fellow Red Dazzler runner Dazzle Me Red! Red Dazzler has also had his first winner in Singapore for the season with former QLD galloper Eisenheim winning a Class 4 for Michael Freedman.

Rudy Wins Again 

Congratulations to owner/breeder Dr Tom Clarke on his 2yo Red Dazzler gelding Rudy, now 2 wins from 3 starts for trainer Helen Paige.

Rudy scored in the BRC Hidden Dragon @ Lyndhurst Stud Hcp over 1600m at Eagle Farm on 20th July. Rudy out of Success Express mare Go On Now Go brings Red Dazzler to 170 wins for 70 individual winners to earn over $3.3 million in prizemoney.  (20/7/13)

El Milagro excels in Singapore Gr 2

Red Dazzler's Singapore son, El Milagro excelled in finishing 0.2 lengths from the winner (Speedy Cat) in the Gr 2 Stewards Cup over 1400m at Kranji on 9/6/13. A great run to score his 8th win for the 4yo, a $100,000 Magic Millions HIT sale graduate.
