Foals With Spirit
Breednet - Media Release - Tuesday, 15 September 2015
With some of Spirit Of Boom’s first foals now hitting the ground, the general consensus is they are nothing short of outstanding.
Spirit of Boom colt from PassaraEureka Stud principal, Scott McAlpine could not be happier with them saying that they have "plenty of Spirit about them.”

"They have got great composition and look to be tough, early running types,” said McAlpine.

The feedback from breeders has also been overwhelmingly positive.

Last season, Spirit Of Boom covered 154 mares which included Kenbelle, the dam of multiple Group I winner Boban.

He also covered Angel Girl, the dam of Group 1 winner – Southern Lord and other black type performers such as Express Air, Purr Perfection and Always Divine.

Spirit Of Boom remains a Queensland favourite competing at the highest level right across Australia.

Spirit of BoomHe was a precocious 2YO, winning three races and one of his victories being the Listed GCTC Ken Russell Memorial Classic.

He also ran close seconds in the Group 2 BRC Victory Stakes and the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes in his 2YO year. Spirit of Boom trained on until he was six and won and placed at group level in 28 of his 52 starts.

The highlights were undoubtedly wins in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes and the Group 1 Doomben 10,000.

Spirit Of Boom possesses all the attributes of being a successful stallion in Australia. He was an early 2YO with an explosive turn of foot. He trained-on to be an outstanding racehorse. His toughness and will to win endeared him to punters all across the country. Spirit of Boom finished his racing career with a record of 52 starts, 9 wins, 14 seconds, 6 thirds, and $2.4m in prizmoney.

There are very few stallions standing in Australia that can boast a race record of this calibre. The last Group 1 winning sprinters to stand in Queensland were Show A Heart and Falvelon, proving that these are the attributes required for stallion success in the Sunshine State.

Spirit Of Boom stands this season at a fee of $11,000 (incl. GST).
