The Spirit Of Boom gelding Prince Of Boom punched his ticket for next week’s Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap after he made every post a winner in Saturday’s Group II The Star Moreton Cup (1200m) at Eagle Farm. Ridden by Tim Clark for Robert Heathcote, Prince of Boom never looked like being caught at any stage. The 4yo gelding defeated the All Too Hard gelding All Too Easy by two and three-quarter lengths, with the 6yo Rubick entire Contemptuous a length back in third.

Michael Nolan purchased a Defcon half-sister to Prince Of Boom from the Eureka Stud draft at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale. After missing to Spirit Of Boom in 2021, Dazzling Display revisited the Eureka Stud stallion last spring.
