Eureka Stud’s young sire sensation Spirit of Boom posted an 18th first crop winner at Ipswich on Wednesday with a tenacious win for Bold Warrior.

Trained by Gary Doughty at the Gold Coast, Bold Warrior was fit ad ready to fire at his third start, leading for most of the race and fighting on to the line to win the 1350 metre maiden by a neck.

Bold Warrior was retained to race by his breeder and is the first winner for Veralini, a minor winning Bernardini (USA) mare from the family of Group I winners Cosmic Endeavour, Fairy King Prawn and Easy Rocking.

Spirit of Boom has had a sensational season with his first crop runners that include 18 winners highlighted by five stakes-winners.

He stands at a fee of $55,000 this spring.
